Cannelton Elementary School  has
been affiliated with Buddy for 11 years. As a Buddy
Core Value School they instituted the Cannelton Brochure Project
involving incoming fourth graders. The students researched local
historical buildings and landmarks to create a tourist brochure,
which will be presented to the Cannelton City Council. Students
visited and photographed the places they selected and interviewed
several citizens about the landmarks. To see the final product,

Cannelton Elementary School was honored
for their Echoes of Cannelton school wide (K-6) project. Students
and their families interviewed Canneltonians about growing up in
the community during the 1920s through the 1960s. In celebration
they held an Echoes of Cannelton Day, where people came to hear
citizens share their childhood experiences in Cannelton. This success
led to the online Echoes
project which won top honors in the International Website Contest
Cyberfair 2002.
