Activity Description:
A good habit to start is saving frequently. Word will
automatically save every few minutes, but you should always
do it after creating a big section, adding clipart or
WordArt, or making large changes. Even if you don’t
do these mentioned things, it is good to “hit”
the Save button every few minutes.
Save As. . .
Soon after starting your new document, go to File
then select Save As. . . A new dialog box will appear
like the one below:
Make sure you have the location where you
want to save your new document listed in the
Save in: box by clicking on the file listed.
To find other files not listed in this main
window, click on the small triangle at the end
of the Save in: box. A popup window will appear
with a list of other locations. Highlight where
you want to save your document.
Name your document in the File name: box:
Click the Save button.
Save
After you have done the initial Save As: process
(naming it, saving it to a specific location) you
will not have to do this again to save changes. You
can either save changes by clicking on File and then
selecting Save or by “hitting” the Save
button in the toolbar.
