Activity Description:
Using the Print shortcut button
(use when you want to print one copy quickly)
In the toolbar across the top of your screen there is a
shortcut
button for printing. To print your document all you have
to do is “hit” this button. This option will
print your document once.
In Word a default printer has been selected. This means
that if you use the Print button in the toolbar, it will
automatically go to a pre-selected printer. To find out
which printer is the default printer, move your cursor over
the Print button and rest it there. A small white “label”
will appear with the name of the printer.
Using the File/Print option
(use when you want to make changes to your printing options)
Go to File in the menu bar and select Print. . . A dialog
box will appear allowing you to make printing choices. Some
of the options that printers give you are:
Changing printers
Number of copies
Printing just a specific page
Printing a specific selection (you must highlight
what you want to print first, then choose Selection)
Print quality (a fast copy or low quality vs best
quality)
Collating the pages
Click OK once you have made all of your choices to print
your document.
