Can't dance? You can still ChaCha™!
ChaCha™ is a mobile search engine that can be used on your cell phone. But, unlike other search engines, responses from ChaCha come from real live people! If you can make a traditional cell phone call, or text message a question, ChaCha can give you an answer. And the service is absolutely free other than standard text messaging charges!
Hot Potatoes™ is Hot! Hot! Hot!
"Hot" is the word to describe this software suite which offers great interactive tools for student use on the web. Hot Potatoes™ allows the teacher to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill type exercises. The ability to integrate the Hot Potatoes into classroom Moodles™ or on a classroom webpage makes this a very useful tool to use with students of all ages. Read more about this resource.

Indiana K-8 Technology Benchmarks
The Indiana K-8 Technology Benchmarks cultivate foundational skills that support teaching and learning in all subject areas. In designing the technology benchmarks, common threads were woven through the academic standards for each grade level - productivity, communication, and digital citizenship. In an effort to clarify meaning of some terms, a glossary for the benchmarks was developed.

My Target: Discontinued
In 2000, Corporation for Educational Technology, with the support of a grant from Lilly Endowment, created My Target. For the past eight years, it has been used by Indiana's educators as an online assessment tool to measure how much they know about technology and assess their abilities to use it effectively in the classroom. However, with the recent change of the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers and the cost it would take to upgrade this resource, My Target was taken offline October 31, 2008.

Tech Word:
External Hard Drive
Most computers come with an internal hard drive, where the operating system, application and document files are stored. A necessary device for anyone who needs extra storage space for their large audio and video files, an external hard drive is also useful to maintain a backup copy of a computer's internal drive. External drives typically connect to computers via USB or Firewire ports transferring data up to speeds of 800 Mbps (Megabits per second).
