Math for All Ages

Looking for new ideas and tips to motivate students in the area of Math? Check out this article and website about MATHCOUNTS, an educational partnership that offers supplemental curriculum materials free to middle school teachers for enrichment, coaching and competition in the area of math. To get some tips about using technology to teach math to younger students, plan to attend the "Math in the K-2 Classroom" offered at the newly relocated Buddy Teaching and Learning Center on November 28. Math and Science Grant Opportunity

Indiana "high need schools" may apply for Title II, Part B grants to implement projects to serve one or more of the following areas: Algebra Readiness, Pre-Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement Programs in Math and/or Science, Biology I Readiness, and Content Area Reading in Science. Grant proposals are due on December 14, 2007 and grant award announcements will be made on February 8, 2008.

The Writing Site is a free web resource for educators developed by the Buddy Project, a non-profit education initiative. It features an interactive tutorial for holistic assessment of student writing using the Indiana ISTEP+ rubrics.
