Tour of Torino

Can’t afford the travel expenses to Italy but still want to experience the sights and culture of Italy? Why not create your own virtual tour of Torino, Italy, the home of the 2006 Winter Olympics, all in the comfort of your own cozy home. Begin in a multimedia slide show program by setting up your outline. Your presentation should include:

  • A title slide
  • basic statistics about Torino
  • famous places to visit
  • famous artists
  • popular sports
  • food
  • the language
  • the people
  • etc.

Once your framework is complete, get to work on the research and photo gathering. Use the internet, your local library, current newspaper, magazine and TV articles to learn more about Torino. Be sure to include a slide that cites all of these sources. Each slide should include a brief paragraph describing the topic as well as photos or clip art. Have fun getting to know this beautiful area of Italy and why it was chosen to host such an event. When your research and writing is complete and you’ve placed all your photos and clip art, present your final slide show with “Amigos” in your home. You may want to accompany it with your favorite Italian recipe served to the guests!

Extension Idea:
Now that you’ve researched Tornio, Italy and you know quite a bit about your part of Indiana, create a Venn Diagram that compares and contrasts the two places. How are they alike and different?
