    Have some family fun! Sit down and dig in to as few or many book and activities as you choose. After you’ve had your fun, please complete the backpack evaluation form.
    Family Fun Ideas
    • See if you can find some old clothes in your attic or closets. Try on and see how they look on you.
    • Go to the library and look through old books and magazines to see how the styles have changed.
    • Visit the Internet links listed on this page.
    The Emperor’s New Clothes Video Activities
    • Art Activity
      Draw a picture of what you think the emperor wanted his clothes to look like.
    • Language Activity
      Discuss with your parents how clothes have changed from long ago. How are they the same? How are they different?
    • Hands-on Activity
      Make a list of the clothes you need to put on before coming to school.

    • Art Activity
      Draw your family members in their clothes using pencil. Color only the clothes that are in your story.

      Create your own story using family members and their favorite clothes.

      Sing this together with someone in your family.

    • Art Activity
      Draw an old article of clothing and make it into something else that is useful.

      Discuss what you do with your clothes when they are old and worn.
    • Hands-on Activity
      Sort through your clothes and take the clothes that don't fit you anymore to a friend or to Goodwill.

    • Art Activity
      Draw a picture of what you think the principal wanted his new suit to look like.

      Make a list of the unusual things Mr. Bundy wore on the last page in the book.
