Family fun and learning are promoted through take-home, theme-focused backpacks. Ideas for materials and activities which can be included in these great backpacks are provided.

    Have some family fun! Sit down and dig in to as few or many book and activities as you choose. After you’ve had your fun, please complete the backpack evaluation form.
    Family Fun Ideas
    • Go to the Humane Society and volunteer to help care for baby animals for a day.
    • Make a sock puppet of your favorite baby animal.
    Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother Too? Book Activities
    • Art Activity
      Draw a picture of you and your mother doing an activity together.
    • Language Activity
      Find an old photo of you as a baby. Write about something your mother did for you as a child.
    • Hands-on Activity
      Help care for a younger child (brother, sister, cousin).
    Clifford Grows up Book Activities
    • Art Activity
      Pick a season from and draw Clifford and you doing something fun.
    • Language Activity
      Write a story about what life would be like with a very large dog like Clifford.
    • Hands-on Activity
      Care for your pet or offer to help someone care for their pet.
