About the Buddy2 Project

The Buddy Project was created in 1988 by a group of visionary Indiana business and education leaders. They believed all families, regardless of financial circumstances, needed access to information, technology and training to enhance learning in school, home and the community. Many years and 30,000+ participants later, Buddy2 continues to be guided by this belief. As technology and information have proliferated in our homes and schools, Buddy2 has moved from the initial focus on access to a focus on learning enhancement.

Purpose

Research and Development Projects
With a focus on learning enhancement, a research and development project which focused on writing began in the fall of 2001 and was completed in the fall of 2004.

STAR Writers
This research and development project was designed to study improvement in student writing when student ownership in goal setting, self assessment and extended time on task through well planned uses of home based technologies were implemented.

Visit this interactive tutorial for holistic assessment of student writing using the Indiana ISTEP+ rubrics.
